Brighton
continues its tradition of creating jewelry to support organizations
that empower women with an exciting new jewlery promotion. In an
impoverished community in Kenya, Africa, unemployment is often
high and one jobholder often provides for a family of 20 or more.
Through Kazuri, Ltd., which was started by an Englishwoman, Lady
Susan Wood, women and their families now have a chance for better
lives.
Over
120 women produce gorgeous handmade beads shaped from clay taken
from the soil of Kilimanjaro. They fire and hand paint the one-of-a-kind
beads in the rich colors of Africa. These artisan beads which allow
the women to proudly earn three times the national average adorn
a limited-edition jewelry collection. Brighton will donate $7.50
per necklace, $5.00 per bracelet and $2.50 per par of earrings
to build wells to provide clean water to hospitals in Africa.
The
Kazuri bead jewelry is only available through July 27th, or while
supplies last. Learn more about how purchasing these beads can
help disadvantaged families by visiting
their website.
You
can also purchase a Brighton Water Bracelet for $5 and a full 100%
of the proceeds will go to Charity Water's efforts to build freshwater
wells in villages where they are most needed. Click on the photo
